Nominee "Dain Szafranski" - 2025 Best of Boulder City

Dain Szafranski

About this Nominee

Dain is a proud fourth-generation Nevadan who has dedicated his career and his heart to Boulder City. Dain began his law enforcement service in our community in 2010 with the Boulder City Police Department. In 2012, Dain left and began with DPS-Parole and Probation. Dain was assigned to Boulder City because of his deep understanding of our people and our community.

Soon after, Dain was invited by the Boulder City Municipal Court to serve as Chief Marshal, where he helped launch an innovative new idea—the Breaking the Cycle Recovery Court. Working hand-in-hand with Judge Miller, Dain helped design, plan, and implement this life-changing program.

Since then, Dain has guided more than 50 graduates to success. He has helped people rebuild their lives from crime and substance abuse into stability, sobriety, and family reunification. At the same time, he returned to school to earn his law degree, not only to better himself and lead by example for his family, but to show program participants that growth and learning never stop.

After 16 years of service in law enforcement in Boulder City, Dain retired in March. Yet his commitment to our community continues. He still volunteers his time, energy, and resources to the Recovery Court, a program he considers a lifelong privilege.

Dain embodies the spirit of service, leadership, and compassion that makes Boulder City thrive.
